A simple, child-like picture of the object, with the s-word underneath, would certainly contrast the unfortunate complications of the characters' context.

I think Tod should post a Taboo card challenge soon, too -- drawing a strip about something without using its most obvious references would be fun. The potential for inside jokes could abound!KaraokeFanboyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16111034782315530527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4859620249367840719.post-9485507540476007122007-10-27T05:07:00.000-07:002007-10-27T05:07:00.000-07:00In my opinion, this really should be published som...In my opinion, this really should be published somewhere. About the cards --

What if instead of pictionary cards, they were just flash cards? That would echo that the mother was working with him with letter sounds. With the pictionary cards, we are reminded that this is a drawing exersize, and takes away from the story.

Can't wait to see your next comic!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00423051076809524563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4859620249367840719.post-8765608541577868162007-10-24T22:57:00.000-07:002007-10-24T22:57:00.000-07:00I like the perspective in your third panel and the...I like the perspective in your third panel and the dark shading of the people on the first. I was thinking that the Pictionary, Jr. labels would maintain a sense of youthful innocence in contrast to the strip's theme of struggle and tragedy. It was the closest I could get to the juxtaposition concept, since the labels generated such a linear story for me. Still, I understand your point and debated it myself, too. Those bright primary colors are a bit much, eh? Keep the feedback comin', man!KaraokeFanboyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16111034782315530527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4859620249367840719.post-38579388913481860592007-10-18T07:42:00.000-07:002007-10-18T07:42:00.000-07:00Awesome! You won me over with the first panel.

I have to honest, I'm not sure about inserting the pictionary labels within the comic. It seems to detract from the seriousness of the strip. But that's just one person's opinion.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00423051076809524563noreply@blogger.com
